Realism and Representation

In this project, I want to investigate the real life of a young adult, allowing representations to be captured through portraiture and documentary style photography, but realism to initiate who they really are. There are many representations of the outside world who put labels on the younger generations, making youth feel less connection to society, thus creating many worries and responsibilities and crashing reality of adulthood. I am inspired by Mehran Djojan who creates portraits of youth smoking. I want to capture youth in a natural emotion and an interesting gaze using conceptual portraiture and having nature as a backdrop to draw viewers in.
